BANY offers two types of memberships, Bus Operator membership and an Associate membership.

A BUS OPERATOR MEMBER is:
A privately-owned company with state authority to transport passengers for hire as a common carrier within New York State.

Acceptance:
Application for bus operator membership is subject to the approval of the Board of Directors, pursuant to the recommendation of a bus operator member.

Bus Operator Dues:
A Bus Operator member agrees to pay an annual assessment of $150.00 (U.S.), plus annual dues payment of one of the following:

Line Operators:
Dues are $750 per year plus $40 per intercity bus and $20 per transit bus with a maximum of $3,500 per company. No reduction for multiple companies controlled by same individuals.

Charter/Tour/Contract Operation:
1-5 buses: $475 per year
6-10 buses: $750 per year
11-25 buses: $1,000 per year
26+ buses: $1,500 per year

An ASSOCIATE MEMBER is:
A company or individual that supplies services to the bus industry, including lodging enterprises, tourist attractions, and all others who participate in the general well-being and furtherance of the industry. An associate also includes receptive operators, travel agents, and tour operators that do not operate equipment. Tour and charter operators of buses, not having New York State authority, are eligible for an associate membership.

Associate Membership Dues:
National Suppliers: $500
Supporting members: $500 for two-year period; $250 per year thereafter. Supporting members are companies that are not New York based, but operate on an occasional basis out of New York City terminals only
Associate Members: $200

Political Action Committee
Bus operators are asked to make an annual contribution to our political action committee (PAC) each year.

Billing:
The annual assessment is billed in January of each year. The dues are billed annually and may be paid quarterly, commencing in January of each year. Based upon the date of initial application, the assessment and dues will be pro-rated for the remainder of the calendar year.
